After graduation, Rob joined a CPA firm in Melbourne, Florida. In 1986, he joined Helmholdt+Company, becoming a partner in 1992. Rob prides himself on treating his clients as friends and giving back to the Rockford community through his civic endeavors. Rob has developed expertise in several industries, including manufacturing, retail, construction, real estate, and distribution. He has successfully assisted clients with corporate tax planning, financial reporting, negotiating mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. His practice includes both large and small business and Rob regularly advises on strategic issues.

Rob and his wife, Sherri, have three grown daughters who are scattered throughout the Midwest. He enjoys spending time with the family, traveling, an occasional golf game, and attending MSU sporting events. He has served on various committees at his church and school, coached basketball with his daughters, and has been elected and appointed to various roles within Cannon Township.
